The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a search for a new coach for the Indian men's cricket team. The new coach will take charge on July 1, 2024, and will be responsible for leading the team until December 31, 2027. This means that Rahul Dravid's tenure as coach will end after the 2024 T20 World Cup. Applicants must have coaching experience and a strong playing history. The last day to apply is May 27. The BCCI has made it clear that there will be only one coach for all formats of the game, ruling out separate coaches for different formats. BCCI secretary Jay Shah had claimed last week Rahul Dravid can reapply for the position.

He was born in Haryana’s Mewat District in Chahalka Village, which is nearly 50 km south of New Delhi. Coming from a humble farming family, Parvej left his village at the age of 13 to pursue his passion for sports. He trained rigorously in Delhi and Bhopal, and his hard work paid off when he won gold at the U16 nationals and bronze at the Khelo India Youth Games. He continued to excel, winning gold at the 2022 National Games and setting a personal best time of 3:40.89s in the 1500m race. His talent and dedication earned him a scholarship to the University of Florida, where he joined the Florida Gators athletics team and made his debut at the NCAA Championships in Boston earlier this year.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured their fifth consecutive victory, defeating Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in IPL 2024. With 12 points from 13 matches, RCB's playoff chances hinge on their final match against Chennai Super Kings. RCB needs a win to reach 14 points and improve their Net Run Rate for a top-four finish. Lucknow Super Giants' loss in their remaining matches could also aid RCB's qualification. Despite a blazing half-century by Rajat Patidar, RCB's brilliant bowling restricted DC to 140. Stand-in skipper Axar Patel attributed DC's loss to dropped catches and a two-paced pitch.
