Indian-born cheetah Mukhi has given birth to five cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Thursday. He called the birth a historic moment for Project Cheetah. Officials said the mother and cubs are healthy. Mukhi, who is 33 months old, is the first Indian-born cheetah to reproduce, marking a major step in India’s effort to rebuild a cheetah population. The successful birth shows strong adaptation of the species in Indian habitats. Cheetahs were reintroduced in India in 2022 after going extinct decades ago, with the first batch brought from Namibia. The State Investigation Agency of Jammu and Kashmir Police raided the Kashmir Times office in Jammu on Thursday for allegedly promoting anti-national activities. Police sources said AK-47 cartridges, pistol rounds and three grenade levers were found during the search. An FIR has been filed against the newspaper for allegedly spreading disaffection, glorifying secessionism and threatening India’s sovereignty. Executive Editor Anuradha Bhasin has also been named in the case. Officials said the investigation will examine the paper’s suspected links and actions. The Kashmir Times, founded in 1954, is one of the oldest newspapers in the region.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth ₹1,452 crore linked to Anil Ambani in a major loan-fraud investigation. These include office premises, residential units, and land parcels, per attachment orders issued on October 31. The move comes amid a broader crackdown: total ED seizures in related cases have now approached ₹9,000 crore. The probe centers on alleged diversion of funds by his group’s finance companies — including Reliance Home Finance Ltd and Reliance Commercial Finance Ltd. (PC: AFP)

In the ongoing investigation into the Delhi Red Fort car blast, authorities have uncovered alleged ties between Al-Falah University in Faridabad and Mirza Shadab Baig, one of the 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts accused. Investigators say extremists linked to Baig had earlier collaborated with Al-Falah affiliates. The probe has widened: the Enforcement Directorate recently arrested Al-Falah’s chairman, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, for money laundering.  

The United States has cleared a possible sale of Javelin missiles, Excalibur projectiles, and related gear to India for $92.8 million. The approval came after the Defense Security Cooperation Agency sent the required notice to the US Congress. The first package includes Javelin FGM-148 missiles, 25 launch units, training tools, and support services. The second package allows India to buy up to 216 Excalibur artillery shells with fire control systems and technical help. Nitish Kumar will take oath as Bihar chief minister for a record tenth time today at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. The ceremony will begin at 11 am and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers and NDA chief ministers. Nitish resigned on Wednesday as the current assembly term ends on November 22. His party JD(U) won 85 seats, defying anti-incumbency for the fifth time. The NDA is now finalising cabinet posts, with both JD(U) and BJP interested in key portfolios like home and education. All eyes are on who will be deputy chief minister in the new government. A dispute has started over the title of SS Rajamouli’s new film Varanasi. The film stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. After the team announced the title, producer CH Subba Reddy said the name is already registered with his company, Rama Bramha Hanuma Creations. As per records with the Telugu Film Producer’s Council, the title Vaaranasi has been with him since 2023 and is renewed till July 2026. Rajamouli’s team used a different spelling, but confusion remains. It is not clear if a complaint has been filed. Both sides may meet or take legal steps to settle the issue. (PC: India Today)

Intelligence sources revealed that 10 individuals, including three Kashmiris linked to Al-Falah University in Haryana, are missing and may be connected to the Red Fort blast cell. Their disappearance follows a joint police operation in J&K and Haryana. The November 10 attack, Delhi’s first VBIED strike, killed 15 people after a Hyundai i20 packed with explosives detonated outside the Mughal fort. Investigators suspect Jaish-e-Mohammed’s “terror doctor” module, with fundraising calls via apps like SadaPay and possible women-led operations. Key suspect Dr Shahina Saeed, “Madam Surgeon,” is tied to JeM’s women’s wing. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has accused authorities of unfairly targeting Kashmiris after the November 10 Red Fort suicide blast in Delhi. The attacker, Dr Umar Nabi from Pulwama, was identified as the bomber, while two others with J&K links were arrested with explosives. Abdullah said Kashmiris now feel criminalised simply for driving vehicles with J&K registration plates and argued that the 2019 abrogation of Article 370 has not ended violence in the region. He stressed that responsibility lies with those managing security, not ordinary citizens. Despite promises of peace, he noted J&K continues to suffer bloodshed, citing recent incidents like the Nowgam accidental blast.
