India’s Chief Economic Adviser V. Anantha Nageswaran has said the US is likely to withdraw the 25% penal tariffs imposed on Indian goods by November 30, 2025. Alongside, reciprocal tariffs levied by India are expected to drop from 25% to 10–15%. The rollback aims to ease the burden on Indian exporters in sectors like textiles, engineering goods, and food products, which faced duty costs as high as 50%. U.S. President Donald Trump has classified Afghanistan, India, China, and Pakistan among the world’s “major drug transit or major illicit drug-producing countries.” This designation stems from their roles in the cultivation, production, or transit of narcotics and precursor chemicals that feed the global drug trade. Although inclusion on this list doesn’t automatically reflect insufficient government efforts against drugs, it could impact international cooperation and funding. The move has drawn attention to regional drug-control policies and may intensify diplomatic pressure on the listed nations to improve monitoring, enforcement, and cross-border counter-narcotics collaboration. Masood Ilyas Kashmiri, a senior Jaish-e-Mohammed commander, has made a second admission linking Masood Azhar to major terror attacks in India. In a new video, he said Azhar planned the 2001 Parliament attack and 2008 Mumbai attack from his base in Balakot, Pakistan. He described Azhar as “Amir-ul-Mujahideen” who spread fear in Delhi and Mumbai. Kashmiri also revealed that recent Indian strikes in Bahawalpur killed Azhar’s family members. His confession strengthens India’s stand that Pakistan shelters terror groups. The video leaves Islamabad with little space to deny terror safe havens. (PC: India Today)
